The best Dal Makhani in my opinion is found in the Indian city of Amritsar. With so many people asking us to do kaali dal (or black dal), we decided to add to our vegetarian range, with our version – black lentils, simmered for hours with tomatoes, fresh ginger and dried fenugreek leaves.
