This barn in the Surrey Hills, overlooking Silent Pool, has been standing since the 1600s. For most of that time it was a cowshed. We like to think the cows would approve of what we do with it now.

Before you book

The practical bits

Where

Mandira's Kitchen, Silent Pool, Shere Road, Albury, Surrey GU5 9BW. On the Pilgrims Way in the Surrey Hills, near Guildford, Shere and Albury.

Parking

Free parking on site. Please register your vehicle at the machine in the car park on arrival. Follow signs for Silent Pool Distillery.

Accessibility

Step-free access and disabled parking. Please let us know in advance if you have specific requirements so we can make arrangements.

Seating

Intimate sessions inside the barn, arranged for clear visibility and participation. Painting workshops may run outside on a good day.

Dietary requirements

Tasting forms part of most sessions. Please tell us about allergies when booking. Food is prepared in a kitchen that handles nuts, gluten and dairy.

Cancellations

Bookings are confirmed on payment. Cancel at least 5 days before and we will transfer you to another date. Within 5 days is non-refundable, though we will try to fill your place from the waiting list. If we cancel, you get a full refund.

Before you come

Do I need any experience?
No. Every session is built for beginners and you are guided throughout. That goes for the cooking classes and the painting workshops alike.
How big are the groups?
Small and intimate, inside the barn, with seating arranged so everyone can see and take part. The painting workshops need a minimum of 4 guests to run.
Can I buy a session as a gift?
Yes. Every workshop and masterclass is available as an experience voucher, for one place or two. Vouchers are here.
Can I make a day of it?
Yes, and we would encourage it. Stay on for a simple lunch at £15 a head, or book our Indian afternoon tea with a complimentary Prosecco upgrade. There is a good walk on the doorstep. Let us know when you book and we will hold your table.
What if my date is sold out?
Ask to join the waiting list. Places do come back, and we will try to fill any that are cancelled. Get in touch and we will add you.
Can you run a session for my team or my family?
Yes. Every session is available for private groups, corporate teams, school groups and celebrations. Email enquiries@mandiraskitchen.com and tell us the date and the numbers.
