Our barn, our recipes

Cooked in a barn above Silent Pool

This gravy starts the way it did in Mandira's family kitchen in Calcutta: whole spices, toasted and ground the same morning, cream stirred in slowly so it never splits.

We cook in small batches in a 400-year-old barn in the Surrey Hills, then blast-freeze every pot the day it's made. Cooked, then frozen. That order is the whole point.

Before your first order

How is it delivered?
Boxed and sent by overnight courier, dispatched Tuesday to Friday across mainland UK. Nothing here is frozen, so it can sit on a shelf until it is wanted. Collection from the barn is available seven days a week.
What size is it?
One size, with an adjustable neck strap. It fits most people comfortably.
How do I store it?
Giftware. Machine washable. Wash before first use.
Does the pocket actually hold a phone?
Yes. That was the entire brief.
Will the turmeric come out?
Mostly. Wash it at forty and do not leave it sitting. Some of it stays, and after a while that stops being a problem and starts being the point.
