The programme
What we run
Small groups, clear explanations, good food. Every session ends with something to take home, whether that is a spice kit, a canvas or a bar of soap.
Soap Making Workshop
Craft natural cold process soaps with kitchen-inspired botanicals and warming spices.
Easy Indian - Cookery Experience
A 4-hour Indian cooking session for those ready to go beyond basic stirring.
Beer, Curry and Quiz Evening
Local beer, artisan curry and a quiz, every last Friday of the month.
Biriyani Magic Workshop
A 90-minute masterclass, because rice in curry is not biriyani, however hopeful. Free biriyani kit included.
Spice Masterclass
Learn the spices properly and take home a beautifully packed spice set worth £30.
Chutneys, Cocktails & Clever Entertaining Workshop
A 90 minute session for people who enjoy hosting and prefer not to be a slave in the kitchen.
Painting Workshops in the Surrey Hills

Every workshop and masterclass can be run privately, for family celebrations, school groups, leadership teams and client entertaining. A quiet morning of painting is a gentle way to bring a team together, and unveiling a biriyani changes the mood of a room.

The practical bits
Where
Mandira's Kitchen, Silent Pool, Shere Road, Albury, Guildford, Surrey GU5 9BW. On the Pilgrims Way in the Surrey Hills, near Guildford, Shere and Albury.
Parking
Free parking on site. Please register your vehicle at the machine in the car park on arrival. Follow signs for Silent Pool Distillery.
Accessibility
Step-free access and disabled parking. Please let us know in advance if you have specific requirements so we can make arrangements.
Seating
Intimate sessions inside the barn, arranged for clear visibility and participation. Painting workshops may run outside on a good day.
Dietary requirements
Tasting forms part of most sessions. Please tell us about allergies when booking. Food is prepared in a kitchen that handles nuts, gluten and dairy.
Cancellations
Bookings are confirmed on payment. Cancel at least 5 days before and we will transfer you to another date. Within 5 days is non-refundable, though we will try to fill your place from the waiting list. If we cancel, you get a full refund.
