We are proud to be featured in The Surrey Cook Book, the latest in the ‘Get Stuck In’ series of regional cook books from Meze Publishing. It celebrates the best of the area’s food and drink scene with over 25 recipes contributed by a diverse selection of restaurants, bars, cafes and small producers across the county. Among this line-up are the award-winning Dorking Butchery, Birley Estate, famed for their honey, cider and trout farm, as well as bread making meister Jack Sturgess and woodland dining and outdoor cookery school The Salt Box.

Whether you are a novice in the kitchen or a budding master chef, this book has recipes to suit all tastes, and also reflects the wonderful melting pot of cuisines in one of the country’s top foodie destinations.

Our dishes contain no preservatives or unpronounceable bits and will happily live in your freezer for up to 6 months. Cook straight from frozen or defrost. (Once defrosted, they can be refrigerated and enjoyed within 2 days.)

Our standard meals can be heated in the microwave, oven or hob from frozen. You do not need to remove the film – each portion takes about 4 minutes in the microwave or 35 mins in the oven or 8-10 minutes on the hob (decant into a pan first). If you wish, you can leave them to thaw for a bit and reduce heating time.

The biggest challenge for me cooking proper Indian food was the complexity and range of spices and ingredients and how to handle them. Mandira totally demystified and simplified the whole process. Exactly what you need to make awesome Indian cuisine. Thank you! Also how to cook rice properly without washing out the flavour or burning it to the base of a pan. That alone is enough to make the whole thing worthwhile. Brilliant 🙂
