Mandira’s Kitchen Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions refer to products purchased from our website and were updated in June 2020.
By signing up to our website and purchasing products from Mandira’s Kitchen, you are agreeing to our terms and conditions of sale, which apply to all transactions on our website. Signing up to the service means we must have the following information:
Your address for delivery of our products;
The billing address associated with your payment card;
Your telephone number;
Your email address, so we can supply you with important information such as your order confirmation.
Mandira’s Kitchen sells goods on our website to the end user and they should not be resold without our prior written consent. Sales to our stockists are handled separately. We do not hold your payment details from any previous orders so every purchase will require you to enter payment details. It is your responsibility to keep your password secure.
Mandira’s Kitchen uses a next-day courier to deliver all items purchased from our website. Online orders are delivered on a Monday, for arrival on a Tuesday or a Thursday, for arrival on a Friday, unless you contact us to request an alternative delivery date. As the customer you are agreeing to sign for the delivery. We will let you know that your order is on the way.
Click & Collect
We’ll do our best to make sure your order is complete and ready on time, but we can’t be liable for any other loss, costs or damage caused by a delay to your collection. If we are out of stock of any part of your order, we’ll contact you in advance and make alternative arrangements.
The price of goods charged will be as quoted on the website at the time you confirm your order with us. The prices displayed on the website may differ from prices in our shop, at markets or our stockists. All our food products are zero-rated for VAT. Our VAT Registration Number is 313574319. We offer free delivery in the UK on any orders over £60.00. Otherwise the delivery charge is £9.99.
Vouchers have a unique code which enables you to redeem them online. They may also be used in our shop. Please check your voucher expiry dates as they do have a time limit of one year. Each voucher code may be used only once per household and no change will be given if the value of the transaction is lower than the voucher value. Vouchers are not valid for use in our independent stockists. Vouchers cannot be refunded. Mandira’s Kitchen is under no liability for replacement or refund should vouchers be lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed.
As an online retailer we are governed by the UK Distance Selling Regulations. However, as we are selling perishable goods, the regulations relating to the return of unwanted goods do not directly apply to us. For more information, please go to www.dti.gov.uk. Orders can be cancelled any time up until the moment that they are dispatched (usually the day before you are expecting delivery).
Please note that refunds may take 2-3 working days to be credited to your account and can only be refunded to the card used for payment.
If you are unsatisfied with any of the items in your order or any part of our service, please contact us at email@example.com. If you would like to make a comment or recommendation regarding our food, then we’d love a Google review. We shall be happy to exchange or refund any item you feel does not meet our quality standards, or any item that has been damaged in transit.
These Terms & Conditions refer to our event catering and food experiences and were updated in June 2020.
All quotes for catering events are valid for a 12-month period. Should a client wish to confirm a booking more than 12 months from the date of the initial quote, this may be subject to a change in pricing. Mandira’s Kitchen pricing is reviewed annually and we reserve the right to change/update menu pricing as and when we see fit.
Once the client confirms acceptance of an estimate for their event, this becomes a contractual agreement. All Terms and Conditions must be read and understood by the client as this is the basis of the contractual agreement with Mandira’s Kitchen upon confirmation of booking.
Upon confirmation of booking, an invoice will be raised for a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the gross balance. Once the deposit is paid, the booking and date is confirmed with Mandira’s Kitchen. At this point, a proforma invoice will be also be issued which will show full details of the booking, as per the quote agreed.
Final details will be collated approximately 4 weeks prior to the event date, and these must be confirmed no later than 2 weeks prior to the event date, at which point a final invoice will be issued and the balance due in full no later than a week prior to the event date. The client is responsible for all final details and the settlement of the account, with any queries regarding the invoice being raised immediately. Please note, no refunds will be given for any decrease in numbers once final details have been agreed and the final balance paid.
Any cancellation should be advised in writing to Mandira’s Kitchen as soon as possible. All deposit payments are non-refundable and this payment will be retained by Mandira’s Kitchen. If the client cancels an event with less than 6 weeks’ notice, we reserve the right to charge the client for 50% of the invoice. If the event is cancelled with less than a week’s notice, the invoice must be paid in full. Non-payment prior to any event may be taken as a cancellation and the charges above will be applied accordingly. Mandira’s Kitchen may take the decision to cancel an event should the client be in arrears of payment or be in breach of any of our Terms and Conditions.
Each event we cater for is planned with the client and we will do our best to accommodate all dietary requirements. It is the client’s responsibility to inform Mandira’s Kitchen of any changes to the menu or any additional requests 2 weeks before the event.
Mandira’s Kitchen will require reasonable access to the area of the event in order to deliver, set up and collect our equipment. If additional labour is required (eg access across lawns to marquees during wet weather), we reserve the right to make a charge for this. Any access issues are to be advised in advance of the event.
Damage or loss
The client is responsible for any damage, breakages, or loss of any property both belonging to Mandira’s Kitchen, or hired for the client’s function, however caused, and will be charged at the full replacement value. This applies to the period between delivery and collection.
Mandira’s Kitchen Food Experiences
Clients who have booked our cookery lessons, supper clubs, spice tours or any other food events are obliged to inform us in advance of any dietary requirements and where possible we will try and accommodate them. We adhere to strict food hygiene standards, and clients are obliged to inform us of any sickness bug within 48 hours of a cookery lesson. If necessary we will book the client onto an alternative lesson. In the unlikely event that we have to cancel the lesson, we will refund the client or book them onto an alternative lesson.
Mandira’s Kitchen will accept no liability for the failure to perform any obligations due to strike, lockout, hostilities or any other circumstances beyond our control. No liability is accepted for loss, damage or consequential loss caused by any failure to perform our obligations (whether due to negligence by us, our employees or sub-contractors, or other due causes), but this does not exclude liability for death or personal injury as required by law.
